Construction Practice

  1. top half: draw a line segment. label it AB. construct the perpendicular bisector of segment AB.
  2. bottom half: draw an angle. label it A. construct the angle bisector of angle A.
  3. back of paper: draw a medium sized acute triangle in the middle of your paper. label it triangle ABC. construct the perpendicular bisector segment AB. construct the perpendicular bisector of segment BC. construct the perpendicular bisector of AC.
  4. front side of 2nd paper: draw a medium sized OBTUSE triangle in the middle of your paper. label it triangle DEF (make angle D the obtuse angle). construct the perpendicular bisector segment DE. construct the perpendicular bisector of segment EF. construct the perpendicular bisector of DC.
  5. back of paper: draw a medium sized acute triangle in the middle of your paper. label it triangle GHI. construct the angle bisector of angle G. construct the angle bisector of anlge H. construct the angle bisector of angle I.
  6. front side of 3rd paper: draw a medium sized OBTUSE triangle in the middle of your paper. label it triangle JKL (make angle J the obtuse angle). construct the angle bisector of angle J. construct the angle bisector of anlge K. construct the angle bisector of angle L.
  7. back side of 3rd paper top half: construct a perpendicular through a point ON the line
back side of 3rd paper bottom half: construct a perpendicular through a point NOT on the line
  8. front side of fourth paper top half: draw a medium sized acute triangle. label it MNO. construct medians MP, NQ, OR.
  9. front side of fourth paper bottom half: draw a medium sized obtuse triangle. label it STU (make S the obtuse angle). construct altitudes SV, TW, and UX.
  10. back side of fourth paper top half: draw a medium sized right triangle. label it XYZ. construct the perpendicular bisectors of all 3 sides.
  11. back side of fourth paper bottom half: draw yourself an obtuse angle. now duplicate it.
